Fayette Sexual Harassment in the Workplace ordinance (§ 125.110)
Chapter 125: Personnel Administration System · Article I. General Provisions
A. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Section 703) provides that sexual harassment (like harassment on the basis of color, race, religion or national origin) is a violation. It is thereby particularly incumbent on those in supervisory capacities to avoid any semblance of sexual harassment directed toward anyone of reasonable sensitivities in the workplace, whether they are other employees, guests, visitors, or those on City business. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Fayette will not tolerate sexual harassment in any form.
B. It shall be the policy of the City of Fayette that not only are supervisory staff prevented from exercising any manner of sexual harassment but that, in addition, any and all employees must refrain from same toward any other staff or toward any and all visitors and/or citizens presenting themselves for the conduct of City business. Should an employee or a visitor seek a remedy every effort will be taken by the Board of Aldermen to ensure confidentiality and no reprisals for the individual having made the report.
