Fayette Authority ordinance (§ 125.080)

Chapter 125: Personnel Administration System · Article I. General Provisions

A. The most important and most expensive resource that accrues to the City of Fayette, Missouri is its staff. Therefore, it is important that the City have clearly stated policies applicable to the wise management of its personnel.

B. The Revised Missouri Statutes. The existing ordinances of the City of Fayette; and the United States Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, Employment Standards Administration (U.S. Department of Labor 29 CFR Part 553) are the applicable authorities for these personnel policies.

C. Good policies are, by nature, not static. They will continue to evolve over time. Secondly, good policies require the application of reasoned judgment. The Board of Aldermen recognizes the need for general policies of personnel employment but also recognizes the appropriate authority of the City Administrator and Public Works Director and individual Department Heads and/or Superintendents designated by the City of Fayette to oversee City functions.
