The ramp from Callaway County’s Route W onto westbound U.S. 54 in Jefferson City closes Monday, Nov. 9, for about three weeks, MoDOT says. The route is also known as Cedar City Drive or Airport Road, in north Jefferson City, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation release.
This is a second, separate closure from the one we reported Nov. 2: that one closed the exit ramp from westbound U.S. 54 to Airport Road; this one closes the entrance ramp the other direction, from Route W onto westbound U.S. 54 itself.
MoDOT says drivers who need to get onto westbound U.S. 54 from Route W should instead take eastbound U.S. 54 to the U.S. 63 interchange, then double back west. The closure lets crews finish paving the new U.S. 63/U.S. 54 lane onto the Missouri River bridge; once it’s done, full interchange access returns along with a new loop ramp onto westbound U.S. 54 and a dedicated southbound U.S. 63 lane onto the bridge.
The work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change — check MoDOT’s current road conditions before you go, or call 888-ASK-MODOT (888-275-6636).
