A McBaine crash from last summer is headed to sentencing. Donald Legleiter, 37, pleaded guilty this week to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and related charges in the July 2025 death of motorcyclist Jeffrie W. Cash on Allen Street in McBaine — river-bottom road plenty of us have driven. Cash died three days after the crash; Legleiter is set to be sentenced September 28. (ABC 17 News)

The river’s on the rise. The Missouri River gauge at Boonville read 9.83 feet this morning and climbing, still well under flood stage. Worth knowing if you’ve got a boat in the water or a walk planned along the bluffs this weekend.

Roads & I-70
The Boonville-to-Rocheport third lane keeps moving. MoDOT’s project to add a third lane in each direction along I-70 between Boonville and the Rocheport bridge remains under construction, on pace for late 2027. (MoDOT)
Closer to Columbia, ramps and outer roads at the I-70/MO-163 interchange are closed in both directions this morning — plan an alternate route if that’s your usual way in.
