Kingdom City No Municipal Liability ordinance (§ 405.060)
Chapter 405: Floodplain Management · Article I. General Provisions
The degree of flood protection required by this Chapter is considered what is reasonable for regulatory purposes and is based upon engineering and scientific study by the Federal Government. Larger floods may occur on occasion, or the actual flood heights may be increased by man-made or natural causes (such as ice jams and bridge openings restricted by debris). This Chapter should not be considered as providing any guarantee that areas outside unnumbered A zones will be free from flooding or flood damage. Nor shall this Chapter be considered as providing any guarantee that any construction undertaken within a flood area in conformity with this Chapter will be protected from damage. This Chapter does not create any liability on the part of Kingdom City, or any officer or employee thereof, for any flood damage that may result from reliance on this Chapter or any administrative decision made thereunder.
