Fulton Selection of members ordinance (§ 50-78)

(a) Each applicant for the volunteer fire unit shall complete and submit a city employment application to the selection committee.

(b) The selection committee shall consist of the fire chief, who shall serve as chairman, with two paid firefighters and two volunteer firefighters. Each member of the committee shall have one vote in any action taken which affects the status of a volunteer.

(c) The selection committee shall have the authority to enroll, suspend and remove any volunteer member.

(d) Any person suspended, demoted or discharged for misbehavior, malfeasance or inefficiency may appeal such suspension, demotion or discharge through the grievance procedures established in the personnel manual.
