Fulton Generally ordinance (§ 2-311)

Chapter 2: Administration · Article IV. Officers and Employees

(a) Any employee who is aggrieved by any personnel action shall have the privilege, within seven days of such personnel action, to request a meeting with and discussion of that personnel action with the director of administration. Such meeting and discussion with the director of administration shall occur within seven days of the request. The director of administration shall have the discretion to suspend the personnel action, to leave it in place, or to modify that action as shall seem appropriate. (b)

Following the meeting with the director of administration, if the employee is still aggrieved by the personnel action, the employee shall have the privilege, within five days, of having a meeting and discussion with the city's personnel advisory board, as established herein. The meeting of the personnel advisory board shall not be considered a "hearing" as the term is used in the State Administrative Procedures Act but shall be a meeting and discussion separate from the State Administrative Procedures Act procedures. The purpose of this meeting and discussion is to provide guidance in the internal operations of the city, to ensure an even application of discipline, but shall not be construed to provide any rights of further redress in the court system of the state or federal government.
