Fulton Same—Qualifications ordinance (§ 2-217)

(a) The city attorney shall be a qualified voter of the city, licensed to practice law in this state, and a resident of the city at least six months and of the state one year next prior to his election.

(b) Should there be no qualified person filing for such office, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the council, is authorized to employ a city attorney on such terms as shall be established by ordinance. In such case, the city attorney shall not be required to be a resident of the city.
