Chapter 18: Buildings and Building Regulations · Article I. In General

If after being duly ordered by the planning and code enforcement officer to repair, demolish, or remove a building, an owner fails to repair, demolish, or remove a building, the city shall do so. However, at the request of the taxpayer, the bill may be paid in installments over a period of not more than ten years. If the taxpayer elects to pay the tax bill in installments, the installments shall be due monthly and shall bear interest from the date of the assessment at the rate of ten percent per annum. The tax bill shall be a lien on the property from the date of issuance until paid in full.
