Fulton Deposit schedule established ordinance (§ 114-100)

Chapter 114: Utilities · Article III. Service Regulations

(a) The schedule for residential utility deposits shall be as established by the city council.

(b) New commercial/industrial customers. The city will require security equal to one month's average bill for all new commercial customers. The average bill would be based on past consumption history at the service address. If this is unavailable or inappropriate due to a change in the type of business to be located at that address, then the city will look at similar types of businesses either among its own customers or in other cities. In any case, the security will be required before utility service is activated.

(c) Existing commercial/industrial customers whose accounts are not secured as of the date this policy is adopted will not be required to furnish security for their accounts as long as they maintain a good payment history. If an existing customer's account is delinquent two or more times during the last 12 months, the city retains the right to require security equal to as much as three month's average bills. The customer is to provide this security within 30 days of notification. Service may be terminated if the required security is not in place within 30 days of notification.
