Missouri Route 5 in New Franklin, Howard County, drops to one lane with flaggers Monday, Nov. 2, from Stage Coach Road to Broadway Street, while MoDOT crews do roadside work along that stretch.
One lane stays open the whole time, controlled by flaggers, so expect brief waits rather than a detour. MoDOT listed the work in its Nov. 2-8 mid-Missouri roadwork outlook without specifying hours beyond the date; all work is weather-dependent and can shift. It’s one of two Howard County roadside jobs MoDOT has running this week, alongside a separate state-funded upgrade to the county’s water system. Check our road conditions page before you drive through New Franklin.
Questions go to MoDOT’s Central District Customer Service office at 573-522-5178 or CDCR@modot.mo.gov, or 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636).
