U.S. 63 narrows to one lane at the Wagon Trail Road bridge, just north of Columbia in Boone County, starting Tuesday, Nov. 4, as crews begin a protective-coating project on the bridge’s supporting structure.
Single-lane closures run on both U.S. 63 and Wagon Trail Road for about two weeks: daytime from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4-9, then overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov. 9-16. The work is part of a wider project to repaint six bridges across Boone, Cole and Moniteau counties; most of the other five aren’t scheduled to start until late November at the earliest. It’s one of several Boone County MoDOT jobs running at once — crews are also doing ADA sidewalk work on Clark Lane starting the day before. All dates are weather-dependent and may shift — check our road conditions page or MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org before you head out.
Questions go to MoDOT’s Central District Customer Service office at 573-522-5178 or CDCR@modot.mo.gov, or the statewide line at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636).
