Fulton Mayor Steve Myers will not run for another term, citing health concerns, and plans to serve out the rest of his current term, the city announced.
The City of Fulton’s Oct. 9 announcement says Myers served as Fulton’s police chief from 2002 to 2021 before he was elected mayor in 2022. The release did not give a date for the next mayoral election or say when candidate filing opens.
Fulton is the Callaway County seat and the largest town in the newest county the Rocheport Times covers. Callaway voters have state and county races on the ballot next week; our Callaway County ballot guide lists them. We’ll report when Fulton sets its filing dates for mayor. For how a municipal race fits with the rest of the calendar, see our early-voting guide.
