Summit Pharmacy in Holts Summit, an independent drugstore in southern Callaway County, is being bought by MU Health Care and will become a Mizzou Pharmacy.
MU Health Care has agreed to buy the pharmacy at 140 Northstar Drive, and the sale is expected to close in December, KOMU 8 reported. KRCG 13 reported that it is set to reopen as a Mizzou Pharmacy on Dec. 7.
Owner Anthony DeSha opened the pharmacy in February 2023. Patients don’t need to do anything to keep their prescriptions there, and the phone number stays the same, according to KOMU. MU Health Care expects to offer jobs to eligible employees.
