Three people who keep Fayette’s city-owned utilities running have been honored by the Missouri Public Utility Alliance, the statewide group for city utilities.
Curtis Hammons and Electric Superintendent Sonny Conrow received the alliance’s Honor Awards, and Alderman J.B. Waggoner received its Public Official Award, the City of Fayette announced. The Fayette Advertiser reported that the Honor Awards were presented at the Sept. 8 city council meeting and that Waggoner received his award Oct. 8 at the alliance’s conference in Branson.
It’s the second statewide honor for Fayette city work this fall, after Bekki Galloway’s arbor award for replacing hazardous trees on city property. If you’re headed up to the Howard County seat, our Fayette courthouse square guide has where to go.
