Columbia schools sue the state again over the Frontier charter fight. Columbia Public Schools filed a new lawsuit Tuesday challenging how the Missouri State Board of Education approved Frontier Schools’ charter application in Boone County, arguing the board skipped its own review process and that meeting minutes wrongly recorded a “unanimous” vote when at least one member actually opposed it. It’s the district’s second suit in the fight — the first, over whether a law that (on paper) applies statewide but in practice only touches Boone County is even constitutional, already has a trial date set. SNAP paperwork rules change tomorrow. Starting Thursday, Oct. 1, Missourians applying for or renewing SNAP food benefits have to submit actual documentation — bills, lease agreements, bank statements — instead of just reporting the numbers themselves, per KBIA. We covered what to gather now earlier this month; current recipients don’t need to do anything until their next renewal.
