Cooper County primary sees moderate turnout. Voters headed to the polls Tuesday for the August Primary Election, with county officials reporting moderate turnout, according to the Boonville Daily News.

Boonville’s 12U All-Stars are Branson-bound. The Boonville 12-year-old All-Stars begin the biggest stage of their season this week, competing in the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, the Boonville Daily News reports.

Fall sports practice starts Monday. Boonville High School and Laura Speed Elliott student-athletes report for their first fall practice of the 2026 season on August 10, per the Boonville Daily News.

River’s on a slow rise. The Missouri River gauge at Boonville read 8.2 feet this morning and is trending up, still well under flood stage. Showers and thunderstorms are in today’s forecast, so expect that trend to hold.

Roads & I-70

Eastbound ramps at St. Charles Road close tonight. MoDOT closes the eastbound I-70 ramps at St. Charles Road in Columbia tonight, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, for paving work — the tail end of a bridge-replacement project MoDOT now hopes to reopen August 14, more than a month ahead of schedule, per KOMU 8. Westbound ramps closed the night before. Several outer roads and ramps in the interchange remain closed in the meantime — plan extra time if you’re heading through Columbia on I-70.
