Continuing past the deadline can mean a fine of up to $150 per violation, each 24 hours counting separately, plus repayment of the village's costs and possible water shutoff.

A. Except for provisions regarding tampering or where there is an immediate public health hazard (as determined by the Superintendent) any person found to be violating any provision of this Chapter should be served by the Village with written notice stating the nature of the violation and providing a reasonable time limit for the satisfactory correction thereof. The offender shall, within the period of time stated in such notice, permanently cease all violations.
B. Any person who shall continue any violation beyond the time limit provided for, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, and on conviction thereof shall be fined in the amount not exceeding one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for each violation. Each twenty-four-hour period in which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense.
C. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Chapter shall become liable to the Village for any expense, loss, or damage occasioned the Village by reason of such violation.
D. The remedies provided for in this Section shall be in addition to such other remedies as are provided by law, including the discontinuance of water service to the property.
