Kingdom City Service for Sole Use of the Water User ordinance (§ 700.340)

Chapter 700: Water Regulations · Article VII. Water Service

In short: A water connection serves only the user: no piping water to, or sharing, reselling or sub-metering it for, anyone else unless the Village gives written permission for an emergency. One connection serves one residence (a farm with one residence and its farm buildings counts as one), and farms with two or more residences need a meter each unless the Village finds that a significant hardship.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

A. The standard water service connection shall be for the sole use of the user and shall not permit the extension of pipes to transfer water from one (1) property to any other person or business.

B. The user shall not share, resell or sub-meter water to any other person or business. If an emergency or specific situation makes such an arrangement advisable, it shall be done only on specific written permission of the Village for the duration of the emergency.

C. No more than one (1) residence shall be served by one (1) water service connection. A farm containing one (1) residence and other buildings for use in the farming operation shall be considered as one (1) residence, and the user may use water from one (1) meter for all such buildings.

D. When a farm contains two (2) or more residences, a meter shall be required for each residence unless the Village finds that requirement to be a significant hardship upon the user. Under that circumstance, a special agreement may be made concerning the additional residence. The rules for a multiple-unit dwelling shall be applied to determine the rate for a farm containing two (2) residences, but only one (1) meter.
