Kingdom City Minimum Home Size ordinance (§ 500.210)

A. After the date of this Section (8-6-2025), no residential building shall be constructed within the Village unless such home has no less than one thousand four hundred (1,400) square feet of living space.

B. For the purposes of this Section, living space shall include only the floor space above the ground level, except for homes which include a lower level with a door leading to the ground level outside and the longest wall on that level is completely exposed (that is not fully or partially covered by earth).

C. This Section shall not apply to homes constructed prior to the date of this Section. In the event that a home constructed prior to this Section is damaged or destroyed, it may be repaired or replaced to the size that it was prior to the damage or destruction, or larger.

D. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the Board of Trustees that each and every part, Section, and Subsection of this Section shall be separate and severable from each and every other part,

Section and Subsection hereof and that the Board of Trustees intends to adopt each said part, Section and Subsection separately and independently of any other part, Section and Subsection. In the event that any part of this Section shall be determined to be or to have been unlawful or unconstitutional, the remaining parts, Sections, and Subsections shall be and remain in full force and effect.
