Hallsville Commuter Parking Spaces ordinance (§ 355.110)

Chapter 355: Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited in Specified Places

In short: Spaces on city property marked "Commuter Parking Available" let commuters park there during regular business hours, but they aren't reserved for commuters. People using the public facility where the spaces are located can park in them at any time.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

A. The City of Hallsville may designate certain parking spaces on property owned by said City as commuter parking spaces. Any such parking spaces so designated shall be marked by a sign or signs, of appropriate size, bearing the words "Commuter Parking Available," together with any explanatory markings such as arrows, to more clearly designate the parking spaces available for the use of commuters.

B. Posting of parking spaces by the City in this manner shall have the effect of allowing commuters to park in the designated parking spaces during regular business hours. Posting by the City in this manner shall not have the effect of limiting parking in the designated spaces to commuter vehicles. Any such designated parking spaces shall at all times be available for parking by persons using the public facility at which said parking spaces are located.
