Glasgow Privacy Fence ordinance (§ 405.330)

Chapter 405: Zoning Regulations · Article VII. Supplementary Regulations

In short: Privacy fences can be no taller than 6 feet and must sit 2 feet back from lot lines, except on an alley lot line, where they may go right on the property line if the landowner has the line surveyed. They can't block vision at street or highway intersections.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

Privacy fences which are meant to impede vision through the fence for privacy purposes, can be no more than six (6) feet in height, and must be set back two (2) feet from lot lines or property lines, except that if the privacy fence is placed on an alley lot line, the privacy fence may be placed directly on the property line. However, to be placed on the property line, it is the responsibility of the landowner to establish the lot line by survey. Privacy fences shall not block or impede vision at a street or highway intersection as required by Section 405.310.
