Glasgow Approval; Fee Required ordinance (§ 230.230)

Chapter 230: Solid Waste

In short: Waste haulers get a one-year (or shorter) permit from the Board of Aldermen if their application shows they can handle solid waste safely and legally, and they must pay a fee for each collection vehicle. The Board may require changes to the application first.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

If the application shows that the applicant will collect, transport, process or dispose of solid wastes without hazard to the public health or damage to the environment and in conformity with the laws of the State of Missouri and this Code and other ordinances, the Board of Aldermen shall issue the permit authorized by this Chapter. The permit shall be issued for a period of one (1) year or fraction thereof, and each applicant shall pay therefor a fee for each collection vehicle used. If in the opinion of the Board of Aldermen, modifications can be made to the application regarding service, equipment, or mode of operation, so as to bring the application within the intent of this Chapter, the Board shall notify the applicant setting forth the modification to be made and the time in which it shall be done.
