Glasgow Location of Sale ordinance (§ 210.2210)

Chapter 210: Offenses · Article XIV. Fireworks

A. Temporary sale of fireworks within the time period permitted by Section 210.2170 shall be allowed within the confines of the City, irrespective of the zoning code limitations on permanent uses of land, at any place in the City (except for the central business district, as defined in Section 210.2190 hereof). The location of such fireworks stand shall be disclosed on the application. If the location has been used the previous year as a fireworks stand by the same license applicant, the permit shall be approved by the City Clerk forthwith. However, if the application requests a new location or the use of an old location by a new applicant, the matter shall be referred to the City Planning and Zoning Commission which shall consider the granting of a special temporary use permit at that location. The permit shall be issued if the Planning and Zoning Commission believes:

1. There is adequate parking at the proposed location, and that the traffic surrounding said fireworks stand will not increase traffic congestion on the streets of the City;

2. That the applicant has adequate liability insurance for any contingency or explosion that might occur; and

3. That the proposed sale location is physically separated from adjoining or neighboring structures so as to reduce the risk of fire spreading to adjoining properties.
