Fulton Permission for use during construction ordinance (§ 98-3)

Chapter 98: Streets, Sidewalks and Other Public Places · Article I. In General

In short: To use streets, alleys or sidewalks for building work or storing materials, you first need written permission from the planning and code enforcement officer, and you must keep a warning light at night when necessary.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

Any person may use the squares, streets, alleys or sidewalks in the construction of any new building or in the removal, repair or alteration of any building or for the purpose of piling thereon building materials and tools. However, such person shall first obtain the written permission of the planning and code enforcement officer or person acting for the planning and code enforcement officer to use such parts of the squares, streets, alleys or sidewalks for such purposes and for such time as he may designate. Such person shall maintain at such places so used at night an artificial light, when necessary, sufficient to warn travelers of the location of such places. The use of any portion of any square, street, alley or sidewalk for such purposes not granted and specified in written permission is prohibited.
