Fulton Traffic rules ordinance (§ 30-11)
Chapter 30: Cemeteries · Article I. In General
In short: Cemetery roads are not shortcuts; keep to 15 miles per hour, no U-turns, no driving on graves or lawns, no horns except for a funeral, and pedestrians have the right of way.
Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.
(a) No person or vehicle will be allowed to enter the cemetery, except through regular entrances maintained for the public for such purpose, without the permission of the sexton.
(b) The use of roads and paths in the cemeteries as thoroughfares or public highways, either by vehicles or on foot, is prohibited. Violators of this subsection shall be considered as trespassers.
(c) There shall be no driving allowed over the graves or upon the lawns under any pretense whatsoever, except for the normal maintenance and operation of the cemeteries.
(d) Buses, trucks or other conveyances of cumbersome description will not be allowed to enter the grounds, except by special permission of the sexton or director of administration.
(e) Admission of vehicles upon the roads of the cemetery will be permitted as a privilege and not as a right inherent to the purchase of a grave or otherwise. As a privilege, it is restricted to those who observe the traffic rules adopted by the city officials.
(f) The speed limit for vehicles is limited to a maximum of 15 miles per hour.
(g) Vehicles are not permitted to make U-turns upon roads, but must go around the section.
(h) Visitors on foot have the primary right to the use of the roads, and all vehicle drivers are required to observe their right by careful driving and a strict adherence to the rules.
(i) Drivers will carefully observe and obey any traffic signs or markings displayed in the cemeteries.
(j) Any driver who runs any vehicle upon the lawns, across gutters or anywhere else where damage results therefrom shall be required to make good such damages.
(k) The sounding of horns, sirens or other audible signals within the cemetery is prohibited, except in connection with a funeral service.
