Fulton Exceptions to payment of deposits ordinance (§ 114-102)
Chapter 114: Utilities · Article III. Service Regulations
(a) Residential customers. Any person requesting residential utility service who furnishes a letter from an immediate past utility supplier, indicating a satisfactory payment record for a period of 12 continuous months within the past two years, shall not be required to make utility deposits. However, if consistent payment by the due date is not maintained, utility deposits may be required.
(b) Any person having made deposits for residential utility service who subsequently furnishes a letter as provided in subsection (a) of this section may obtain a refund of or credit for such deposits.
(c) Commercial and industrial customers. If an existing customer with a good payment history:
(1) Relocates within the city or expands an existing location - additional security will not be required unless there will be a significant increase in consumption;
(2)
Opens a second or new location (either directly related to the existing business or a new business) - security will be required in the amount of one month's average bill for that location.
(d) If the city is holding security on an existing account due to poor payment history, security will also be required for any new accounts the customer may wish to open due to relocation, expansion or opening of new business.
