Columbia Types of separations ordinance (§ 19-201)
Chapter 19: Personnel Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulations · Article VI. Employment Policies
Separations of employees from city services shall take one of the following forms:
(1) Resignation;
(2) Layoff (curtailment of work or lack of funds);
(3) Retirement (unless the employee transfers to a different position pursuant to section 19-164(e));
(4) Disability;
(5) Death;
(6) Dismissal;
(7) General separation.
