Columbia Approval of applications and issuance of license ordinance (§ 13-435)

Chapter 13: Licenses, Permits and Miscellaneous Business Regulations · Article XIII. Marijuana Business Licensing

In short: The city's business services administrator must issue a marijuana business license once the applicant meets the article's requirements (and, for a dispensary, is selected for a license). The license names the type of license and the exact premises, and allows marijuana activities nowhere else.

Our plain-English summary, not the official text or legal advice. The ordinance below is what counts.

If the applicant meets all of the requirements and qualifications of this article, and in the case of a renewal or conversion the business has been conducted in accordance with the additional requirements of this article, and in the case of medical marijuana dispensary facility a license is selected in accordance with this article, the business services administrator shall grant and issue the license. Every license issued under this article shall set forth the type of license granted and shall particularly describe the premises at which marijuana activities will occur and the license shall not authorize or permit marijuana activities at any other place.
