Boonville Stop work order ordinance (§ 17-70)

Chapter 17: Planning and Redevelopment · Article IV. Historic Districts

Whenever the city administrator has reason to believe that an action for which an historic property construction permit is required has been initiated, or is about to be initiated, he/she or his/her designee shall make every reasonable effort to contact the owners, occupant, contractor or subcontractor and inform them of the necessity of an application for an historic property construction permit. If the city administrator or his/her designee determines that a stop work order is necessary to halt an action that requires an historic property construction permit, the city administrator or his/her designee shall have such order issued and personally served to the owner, occupant, contractor or subcontractor. The city administrator or his/her designee shall also send a copy of the stop work order by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the owners, occupants, contractors and subcontractors, and notify them of the process to obtain an historic property construction permit. A copy of the proper application form shall be included in the notice.
