Rocheport Chocolate Crawl 2023

Over 200 visitors were treated to mild weather this year for the annual Rocheport Chocolate Crawl. Ten shops hosted stops along the crawl with delectable chocolates, ranging from custom-made dark chocolate cups with maraschino cherries to chocolate truffles from The Candy Factory in Columbia.

The Rocheport Chocolate Crawl, annually hosted by the Rocheport Area Merchants Association, is Rocheport’s way of welcoming visitors and guests back to town after a busy end-of-year holiday season. The event landed on a pleasant February day with mild temperatures and sunshine.

It was a pleasure to see over 200 ticket holders, toting small red gift bags to carry all their goodies, make their way from stop to stop and enjoy their chocolate treats, some pausing to have a meal or do a little shopping while crawling through town. Ten local businesses were showcased who treated their visitors with all things chocolate — freshly made dark chocolate cups filled with a sweet maraschino cherry, delightfully iced chocolate pops, heart-shaped sugar cookings beautifully decorated with edible chocolate-covered rose petals made by Tasteful Findings, rich five-chocolate brownies, and mouthwatering truffles from The Candy Factory in Columbia.

An excuse to view bed and breakfasts in Rocheport and explore the town

If you are wondering why you should join the Rocheport Chocolate Crawl next year, here are a few things for you to consider: It is not often you can view the bed and breakfasts in Rocheport without booking a stay. This year the Katy Trail B & B and The Amber House were both stops along the crawl that opened their doors to showcase their offerings. It is also a perfect excuse to make a day of the town, exploring the busy Rocheport shops and stopping by Merriweather Cafe or the Rocheport General Store for some refreshments while making your way through the historic and charming town. Additionally, this event is family-friendly and parking is easy to find. If you need special access, contact the Rocheport Area Merchants Association for details and requests.

This pre-spring event is a reminder to visitors that the town is open for business and has a full year of events planned. The chocolate crawl is a ticketed event that quickly sold out this year. If you missed this year’s event, sign up for the Rocheport Times weekly newsletter and be one of the first to know about next year’s chocolate crawl.
