The April elections are over and the results came in; elected for a new year as alderpersons are Conrad Yates (Ward 1) and Lois Conner (Ward 2) and John Zondka (Mayor). They were sworn in at the town council meeting on May 1, 2023. Congratulations to everyone and thank you for serving.

Children’s Park Update
At the town hall meeting there were some updates on the children’s playground. Volunteers poured the foundation and installed the swing set and the children’s train set. It was a lot of work and time. Over 100 cement bags were needed to lay the foundations for the two installations. More work still needs to be done for mulching and final assembly. We are told they are very close to completion. Cross your fingers for a May ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Community Hall Updates
The city council is also considering keeping the big lights off at the Community Hall or resetting their timer when the hall is not in use. Residents have stated that the lights are extremely bright and there are already plenty of city lights in the area. So council members agreed to look into the impact of light pollution and see if changes can be made. It was requested that the council also consider installing Internet service at the Community Hall to accommodate vendor events for purchases, playing movies on movie nights, etc. They are reviewing costs and will get back to us.
