The White Oak is one of the most common and iconic trees of central Missouri. Look for its rounded lobes and deeply furrowed gray bark. Acorns ripen in autumn and are an important food source for deer, squirrels, and wild turkey. Several old-growth specimens stand near the tunnel entrance.
