Rocheport lies directly on the monarch migration corridor. In late August and September, large numbers pass through heading to their overwintering grounds in Mexico. Planting native milkweed (Asclepias) in your yard directly supports their reproduction. Look for them nectaring on wild bergamot, goldenrod, and ironweed.
