Founded in 1967, Friends of Rocheport is the town’s preservation nonprofit, guided by a simple motto: “We Serve to Preserve.” Over the decades the group has purchased and restored historic buildings, helped save the Community Hall, and played a leading role in developing Katy Trail State Park — including the restoration of the old Katy train depot.
Today, Friends of Rocheport runs a museum of local artifacts and photographs at 101 Moniteau Street, operates a craft shop featuring area artists, and hosts beloved annual traditions like the spring plant sale, the Rocheport Stroll, and the holiday tree lighting.
