Founder’s Point

Founder's Point in Rocheport, Missouri

Founder’s Point is a beautifully renovated guest house perched on The Blufftop at Rocheport, built by Doc and Martha Bourgeois — the founding couple behind Les Bourgeois Vineyards. Positioned between the Blufftop Bistro and the A-Frame Winegarden, it sits at the edge of a bluff with sweeping views of the Missouri River valley, with an enormous deck designed as a gathering space that quite literally hangs above the river bank.

Inside, the home carries the character of its founders: Louisiana wood accents, a stone-walled fireplace, an open kitchen with butcher block countertops, and historic family touches throughout. With four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, it’s generously sized for a group of friends or an extended family looking for something more personal than a hotel.

The location is part of what makes it genuinely special. Guests wake up at one of Rocheport’s most scenic spots, with Les Bourgeois’s dining, wine garden, and bistro steps away — but the house itself feels secluded, tucked into a wooded bluff setting rather than dropped into a resort complex. It’s a rare combination of privacy and access that’s hard to find anywhere along the Katy Trail corridor.
