Two Higbee Women Seriously Hurt in Howard County UTV Crash

·

Two women from Higbee were seriously injured Monday afternoon, June 29, when the side-by-side they were riding in went off Route A in Howard County, overturned, and struck a tree, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report cited by ABC17.

The 2024 Honda SXS700M was headed northbound when it left the right side of the road. Both women were taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia. The patrol’s report notes neither was wearing a safety device at the time.

Why it matters here: side-by-sides and UTVs are everyday vehicles on farm roads and county routes around here, and this crash is the kind of plain reminder that’s easy to skip past until it’s someone you know. Buckle in, even for a short haul down the road. Names weren’t released, in keeping with the patrol’s usual policy, and there’s no public update yet on either woman’s condition or age.
