At 504 Third Street in downtown Rocheport stands one of the town’s most storied buildings: a three-story brick schoolhouse, built around 1914, that served as Rocheport’s public school until 1972. Today, under owners Andy and Chandrika Hickman, the School House Bed & Breakfast is one of Missouri Wine Country’s best-known places to stay — and it’s on the National Register of Historic Places.
The main schoolhouse holds eleven guest rooms, each with a private bath, and three of them have two-person jetted tubs. But the property goes further than a single building. A separate Dormitory House offers two budget-friendly rooms aimed at cyclists and Katy Trail travelers, and the Clark Street Lodge has two apartment-style, self-service units for families or longer stays.
