Small volunteer crews working in the first half of 2026 have hauled out nearly 15,000 pounds of trash and restored more than 23 miles of waterways across mid-Missouri, the group reported in its own recap.
The group’s own description of how it works is the point: “volunteers have been heading out in small groups to care for local rivers and streams,” a steady drip of smaller efforts rather than one headline event. It adds up — 15,000 pounds is roughly the weight of two loaded pickup trucks, pulled out a bag or two at a time.
