The power outage that followed the storm turned out shorter than feared: utility crews had originally warned of 2 to 3 days without service, but restoration began the very next day as the substation came back online and circuits were brought back one at a time, ABC17 reports. Tree damage was heavy, building damage mostly light, and volunteer crews with Christian Aid Ministries’ Rapid Response Services were on the ground clearing debris by midweek.
