Every June, something quietly great happens in Rocheport. The whole village — the brick-paved streets, the galleries and tasting rooms and porches — turns into a single, walkable party. That’s the Rocheport Stroll, one of the biggest evenings the town puts on all year.
The idea is simple and genuinely fun. Buy a ticket, pick up your commemorative wine glass, grab your map, and spend the evening wandering through a National Historic Register village with a drink in hand. Local wineries, breweries, and distilleries set up pop-up stops at merchant locations around town — each pours something different, so your glass tells a little story of mid-Missouri craft beverages by the end of the night. Les Bourgeois Vineyards, the Rocheport Winery, and a rotating lineup of Missouri producers have all poured here over the years.
The Stroll runs 4 to 8 PM on a Saturday in June, which means golden-hour light on limestone buildings, live music spilling out of several spots at once, and a good-sized crowd of people happy to be exactly where they are. For a village with fewer than 250 full-time residents, that kind of energy is something to see. It’s the kind of night where you end up chatting with a winemaker, duck into a gallery you’ve walked past a dozen times, and lose forty minutes to a band you didn’t plan on.
As of the 2025 Stroll, advance tickets were $25 and included the commemorative glass, a shopping bag, and the stop map (emailed about a week ahead); day-of tickets were $30, available at Meriwether Café starting in the afternoon. They do sell out, so advance is the smarter call. The event runs rain or shine, no refunds — which tells you how much people want to be there regardless of weather.
The Rocheport Stroll has been going since around 2005, with a pause in 2020 and 2021, and it has real roots by now.
