How to visit Rocheport by car during these closures
- Westbound traffic on I-70 will be able to use Exit 115 to exit north on Route BB. Turn north on Highway BB and continue for 2 miles. Highway BB will become Third Street as it makes its way through Rocheport.
- Traffic from all other directions, whether entering or leaving Rocheport, must use Highway 40 and the 240 Spur or Old Rocheport Road and Route BB.
Lane Shifts on I-70 at the Rocheport Bridge/the new Lance Corporal Leon Bridge
MoDOT has announced there will be lane shifts on I-70 at the Rocheport Bridge/the new Lance Corporal Leon Bridge happening the weekend of June 16–19 that will cause delays both for eastbound and westbound travelers on I-70:
- Eastbound I-70 will narrow to one lane as traffic crosses and exits the existing Rocheport Bridge. Drivers will then be directed up and over the ramps at Exit 115 and back onto I-70 eastbound into two lanes.
- Westbound I-70 will be narrowed to one lane as travelers approach Exit 115. Motorists will go over the on/off ramps and continue onto the newly constructed westbound Rocheport Bridge, where they will be able to use both lanes.
- The shift of the eastbound lanes of I-70 to the new bridge is anticipated for late July. Following that traffic shift, demolition of the old Rocheport Bridge and construction of the new eastbound bridge can begin.
- Completion of the entire project is expected in late 2024.
Route BB Bridge replacement
MoDOT has announced that the Route BB bridge over I-70 will be demolished over the weekend of June 16–19 for reconstruction. The completion date for the Route BB bridge is late October 2023. This means:
- Eastbound traffic on I-70 will not be able to use Exit 115 to access Route BB.
- Route BB traffic will not be able to access eastbound I-70 at the overpass.
Boone County Routes F and 124 bridge projects
MoDot also lists these upcoming closures for Boone County:
- Route F over Perche Creek: CLOSED June 5 – Aug. 3, 2023, bridge deck replacement.
- Route 124 over Grindstone Creek: Single-lane closures with flaggers July 25 – Aug. 1, 2023, bridge rehabilitation.
- Route F over Coon Creek: CLOSED Aug. 7 – Oct. 23, 2023, bridge replacement.
- Route F at Blaze Creek: short-term lane closures with minimal traffic impact expected Oct. 10 – 16, 2023, work off the roadway.
- During the two scheduled closures on Route F, motorists will need to use an alternate route.
