Route 40 bridge at Salt Creek Reopens
The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the roadwork on the Howard County Route 40 bridge over Salt Creek and the Katy Trail is complete and it is now reopened. The bridge had been closed since June 2022 for a full replacement and widening.
Roadwork construction begins on Route 40 Bridge over Bonne Femme Creek
Starting March 14, 2023, LCC Lehman Construction Company has announced it will be starting roadwork on the Route 40 bridge deck replacement over Bonne Femme Creek. The creek is located in Howard County, southeast of New Franklin, 2 miles from Route 5, and east of Booneville. Highway 40 will be closed to through traffic for up to 68 days. The bridge is 73 years old, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation, and the repairs are necessary to improve the condition of the bridge and extend its life structure by 30 years. The estimated date of completion is late summer 2023.
